Product Description
Jenny McCarthy-whose bestselling books Louder Than Words and Mother Warriors told the stories of healing children with autism-teams up with a preeminent autism doctor to write the first book on a remarkably effective treatment.

In 2006, autism became the leading disorder affecting children in the United States. While diagnoses skyrocket and parents struggle to find help, a group of innovative doctors has been pioneering therapies and treatments that are remarkably effective in healing conditions associated with autism. As word spreads about these incredible discoveries- helped in part by Jenny McCarthy’s book Louder Than Words- parents are desperate to learn about the biomedical therapies for themselves.

Since early intervention is key to a successful recovery, McCarthy has teamed up with Dr. Jerry Kartzinel, the doctor who successfully treated her son, to write the first book to give parents all the necessary information about biomedical treatment. Beginning with diagnosis, Dr. Kartzinel explains the different therapies that he uses. He shows parents how to make simple changes to their child’s environment and diet that can result in marked improvements and are safe and easy to try at home. And finally he explains some of the more advanced therapies that many doctors use today, and the way parents, alongside a qualified medical professional, can determine whether or not such treatments would benefit their child.

For new parents, Dr. Kartzinel provides helpful guidelines on how to best protect their child from developing autism.

Another tome of absolute tripe from the Queen of it. If you like self-delusions and pseudo-science, then feel free to pick up a copy of this book; if, like me and most sane people you take the advice of actual medical practitioners and experts in the field, feel free to pick up this book anyway, to have a laugh over with popcorn.

On second thoughts, don’t give her the money. Her opinions (and they are just that, given they have no scientific basis) are a dangerous growing blight on a supposedly intelligent society.

It is unbelievable that people would read false science by a has been movie star. Woe to the authors. Woe to the publisher. Woe to Amazon for selling it. Autism is a heart breaking and puzzling disease. For these people to exploit it is unconscionable. I hope they all rot in hell (unfortunately there is no hell). She is worse than Diedre Imus who thinks that vaccinations and Thimerosal cause autism. Regardless of the fact that there has never ever been any kind of correlation. Thanks to these nuts polio is now reemerging. The star I gave it is a negative star.

I can hardly wait for Jenny’s next book. The Acai Berry Juice Cure for breast cancer. Shame! Shame! Shame!

This is THE worst science. These types of doctors are preying on the desperate parents of autistic children. There is a BIG difference between kids with autism and kids with severe food allergies. Please keep in mind that Jenny McCarthy is just trying to sell books. For those parents who are searching, please get medical advice from multiple doctors before you proceed. Each kid with autism is unique and needs to be medically treated as such.

After watching this morning’s interview of Jenny and Dr. Kartzinel on Good Morning AMerica (4/01/09), I feel mortified that a book like this is on the shelves.

I can’t help but feel like the whole “find the cause of autism” is just to take a weight from their own shoulders. By going on and on about the toxins in our homes and in our own backyards, they’re doing nothing but promote a scare tactic. Anyone with any kind of common sense should know better than to flood their homes with toxins, and should always read the labels of anything they use in or around their home. Maybe it’s just because my father was a chemist, and I grew up in a nearly 100% lab toxin (vs. organic toxin, yes, they exist, arsenic is organic people) free home. They are not only giving parents false hope through this book, but they are also feeding into the organic frenzy that people should be terrified of anything that comes out of a laboratory and isn’t found in nature.

And did I hear them mention that immunizations were a bad idea because they can contain aluminum? Great. Spread some ridiculous plagues around the continental United States while you’re at it.

I read reviews written by people who swear by this book, and by what Jenny preaches, but, again, I think it’s false hope. By changing diets, you change EVERYTHING that makes the body function - not the mind. By adding or taking away certain minerals, chemicals, enzymes, etc, you change so much about a person - especially if the previous diet consisted of frozen chicken nuggets, canned syrupy fruits, and breakfast bars loaded with sugar. Of course you will see a change. Diet changes everything. You are not, however, curing autism.

Jenny McCarthy is pretty smart, she knows just where the market is in order to make a better profit off her books. All the anti-vaxer’s will support her and this book, and be assured they’re supporting her bank account. McCarthy is a great example of YOUR money working for HER. She’s no better than Offit making a profit off of people. She is no expert on autism, and it’s questionable if she can be an expert on her own child based on her past interviews. This book suggests “safe and easy to try at home” without knowing the readers medical history, which is dangerous. Any one stating recovery and or cure is giving false hopes to many. McCarthy is teamed up with Generation Rescue which is nothing but a scare tactic towards the public. Any one who considers autism only as a theory to the “gut-brain” connection will be sadly mistaken when they try bio medical and see no change. The worst part of it is this is mainly never covered under insurance.

This is not the first book out there on this topic, nor is it the best of the likes of it. McCarthy isn’t providing anything new, she’s pretty much just re-writing info that was already there and hoping her name sells the books.
