Fred Yager’s New YA Novel, Sound from a Star, is a Hit at the Frankfurt Book Fair

Stamford, CT (PRWEB) October 28, 2011
Already translated into Vietnamese, Sound from a Star, received many requests from international publishers or foreign agents from more than half a dozen countries including China, Hungary, Lithuania, New Zealand, Poland, and Sharjah, UAE. The books publisher, Hannacroix Creek Books, Inc., was pleased with the positive buzz the new sci-fi mystery generated at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
Yager, a former Associated Press reporter and feature writer, began writing novels for younger readers a decade ago, after publishing two crime novels, Untimely Death and Just Your Everyday People, co-authored with his wife Jan. His first sci-fi novel, REX, another mystery but for a 9 and up audience, included raising a dinosaur on the upper West Side of Manhattan as part of the plot. Next, in 2005, his second sci-fi novel, this one for a young adult 13 and up audience, Cybersona, was a riveting story with a videogame as a central part of the engrossing storyline.
Praise is mounting for Yager’s latest sci-fi YA mystery, Sound from a Star, as evidenced by this 5 star review from Midwest Book Review:
‘”Sound From A Star” is a deftly written, original, and thoroughly entertaining read offering an engaging story that will grip the total attention of teen readers from first page to last. Highly recommended for both community library collections and personal reading lists.”
Using sound to heal is an idea that Yager sees getting out of the sci-fi realm into medicine and even into everyday life. Says Yager. I believe that someday soon well see sound being used as a way to cure those illnesses that appear immune to traditional or laser surgeries or chemotherapy and that what I have presented in my new novel as science fiction will, like most science fiction before it, one day turn out to be science ‘fact.’”
